Hi, I’m Kristin. A CPA turned Recruiter who has a passion for creativity, writing, and design.

There was always an inkling of creativity in me growing up. However, I graduated college during the economic crisis in 2006, which led me down the more conservative route: Bachelors of Accounting. Masters of Accounting. Licensed CPA. Big 4 audit with Deloitte. CFE and forensic accounting with a smaller firm. Promoted to internal audit manager with Catalina then joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in 2016. A small step back in title for the many doors ahead I knew would open.

But there were other talents inside of me that were dying to come out. So in late 2016, I created Suits & Sneaks. It combined my love for photography, design, writing, career advice, and of course, sneakers. It was the outlet I had needed all along.

2017 and a health crisis hit me. The most difficult months of my life and a whole lot of figuring things out. I had hit breaking point. But I knew deep down, now was the time to push open that new door that God had cracked open for me. Several open and honest conversations with my boss, and then, a change in my career. Things finally fell into place.

If you haven’t noticed, I love to write. It’s expressive, it’s therapeutic, nobody can replicate my thoughts, and best of all, it’s free. I also have the deepest appreciation for photography. And so I created this site as an outlet for all of my loves that are in addition to Suits & Sneaks.

What’s next? I will write more. Two books to be exact. And I will take and publish a million pictures of everything I love. I will continue to earn a paycheck doing something that makes me happy, and then at some point, I would love to earn a PhD in Organizational Behavior & Psychology. I have several ideas up my sleeve on exactly what I’d do with that, but to be disclosed at a later date.

I hope you enjoy.

You will feel an internal balance like you’ve never felt before when you finally do what makes you happy.

My best advice is to pay attention to yourself. Pay attention to what gives you energy, fulfillment, and what gives you worry and stress. If you are a circle that can’t seem to fit into a single square, that’s a pretty awesome thing. Go create a website and market yourself exactly how you’d like.

Much love,

K.A.
